Police: Yorktown Man Harasses Woman, Teens Arrested for Marijuana Possession

Man Harasses Woman, Violates Order of Protection
A 21-year-old Yorktown man is facing criminal charges after he allegedly violated an order of protection, police said.
Branden H. Berlangas was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor.

Police said they received a call from a Leland Drive resident on Aug. 1 reporting a domestic dispute in progress. Investigation revealed the defendant allegedly harassed the resident and appeared at her residence in violation of a temporary order of protection. Berlanga left scene prior to police arrival but was located a short time later walking in the area, police said.
Berlangas was remanded to the Westchester County Jail on $1,500 bail. He was scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 9.

Unlicensed Driver Arrested
A 19-year-old Peekskill, who was stopped for having only one license plate on his vehicle, was arrested for driving without a license.
Matthew Godbee was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor and the traffic infraction of displaying one
license plate.
Police said his license had three current suspensions. Godbee was released on $30 cash bail and scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 4.
Marijuana Odor Emanates from Vehicle
A 23-year-old Yorktown man is due in court later this month to answer a violation charge that he was found in possession of marijuana, police said.
The man was arrested on July 27 after police observed a vehicle, traveling north on Commerce Street, which allegedly had the odor of marijuana emanating from it. The vehicle was stopped and the passenger was found in possession of marijuana.
The defendant was released and scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 28.
Teen Arrested for Smoking Marijuana
A 17-year-old Ossining teen was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor.
The teen, whose name police did not release due to his eligibility for youthful offender status, was arrested on July 31 when police saw him holding a lit marijuana cigarette in his hand while he was hanging out at a bike path in Yorktown.
The defendant was scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 4.
Running a Red Light, Driving With Suspended Driver's License
A 33-year-old Cortlandt Manor woman was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor and the traffic infractions of failure to produce a license and passing a red light.
Michelle Pisani's vehicle was stopped on July 31 for allegedly running a red light at Route 6 and Sunnyside Street in Yorktown. Police said her licensed allegedly had two current suspensions
The defendant was released on $100 cash bail and was scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 4.
Speeding Driver Arrested for Driving with Suspended License
A 49-year-old Carmel man, who was stopped for speeding on Kitchawan Road on Aug. 1, was found to be driving with a suspended driver's license, police said.
Tonin Vesnta was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and speeding, a traffic infraction. Police said his license had been suspended for allegedly failing to answer a summons.
Veshta was released on $150 cash bail and was scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 4.
