1. Reading Buddies at the Library
The Reading Buddies are at the until Thursday, Aug. 9. Teen volunteers will be available to read to your 3-7 year-olds in the Children's Room. The hours are: Mondays, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.; Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.; 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.; Wednesdays 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.; 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursdays, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
2. Today is Primary Day

There will be no Yorktown town board meeting tonight because of Primary Day.
4. Bear Mountain Parkway Petition
The Town of Cortlandt has been working with the mother of who was killed in a car accident on the Bear Mountain Parkway last year, to collect signatures for a petition that asks for support for the Town Board’s efforts to obtain the installation of a median on the parkway. The town held a press conference, where they discussed their efforts near Arlo Lane this afternoon. Check Patch today for coverage.
