Queens Man Accused Of Not Showing Up For Court

YORKTOWN, NY — A Queens man was accused of not showing up for court.

The Yorktown Police Department said Carlton A. Campbell Jr., 31, of Long Island City, was arrested Tuesday and charged with arrest warrant for failure to appear.

Authorities said he didn’t appear for a scheduled court appearance in connection with a charge of third-degree possession of a forged instrument and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, misdemeanors, and several traffic infractions.

On Sept. 3, 2020, Campbell didn’t show for a court appearance, police said, and an arrest warrant was issued.

On Tuesday, he voluntarily surrendered himself at Yorktown Police Headquarters, after which he was arrested.

Following processing, Campbell was released on his own recognizance and issued an appearance ticket to return to court Tuesday.
