3. Students Named to Dean's List

  • Mary Mavumkal has been named to the spring 2012 Dean's List at University of the Sciences. She is a doctor of pharmacy student.
  • Cornell University's Cristhian Rubio of Yorktown Heights has been placed on the Dean's List of the College of Arts and Sciences for Excellence in Scholarship for the Spring 2012 semester.

4. Results in from State Math and ELA 

The State Education Department (SED) released the results of the April 2012 grades 3-8 math and English Language Arts (ELA) assessments on Tuesday. Statewide, the average scale scores on this year’s exams in both ELA and math are slightly higher than last year in most grades, and there is a small increase in the percentage of grades 3-8 students across the State who met or exceeded the proficiency standard on both exams, according to state officials. The results for individual buildings are posted here. 

5. Slight Chance of Showers

According to the National Weather Service, there is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7 a.m. today, then a slight chance of showers after 11 a.m. It is expected to be partly sunny, with a high near 87.
