What Should Replace the Former Shrub Oak Deli?
The owner of the building is looking for a new business owner. According to one of his tenants, he is looking for a "first class deli."
The building, which , has been sitting empty for more than a year. But there have been some changes – the entire room was gutted, leaks were fixed and the landscape around the building was improved.
Now, the owner of the shopping plaza is awaiting for a new business owner.
He has put up a "For Rent" sign on the window and has provided a number for potential business owners, interested in renting out the space, to call him.

Bobby Joachim, who owns the neighboring business , said his landlord would not settle for any business and that he has turned down potential tenants if he didn't think they were right.
"He wants a first class deli," Joachim said of his landlord. "He wants everything first grade. He takes pride in his properties – that's what he told me."

This now vacant amidst rumors of financial difficulties. The deli was owned by Linda and Eddie Cooper for the past 28 years and was a well-loved staple of the Shrub Oak community. Last year there was card on the door which said "The Sansotta Brothers Italian Specialties," but the deli never opened.
Joachim said his landlord continues to make improvements inside the former deli and if a potential business owner shows interest in the space, more improvements would be made.
