Work Week Weather: Highs and Lows in Yorktown and Somers

Heat and humidity can be expected earlier in the week, but that breaks to welcome cool and dry relief later in the week.

Lots of sunshine can be expected Monday morning with some high clouds that will increase throughout the afternoon, Hudson Valley Weather reports.

After a nice weekend of dry, warm temperatures, the humidity is expected to increase, which, compared to the weekend, will be enough to be noticeable, HVW reports.

“It’s another warm one across the Hudson Valley, and, unlike previous days, we should see the humidity creep up just a bit,” Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather reports. “It’s not looking oppressively humid, but, compared to the weekend, it could be a bit more muggy.”

Potter said this type of weather increases threats of severe thunderstorms for the northwestern part of the Hudson Valley area near or after sunset Monday.

“The computer data has that the line of storms projected to be strongest to our north,” Potter reports. “It even suggests the storms could weaken over the HV. Even with the data pointing toward some weakening of the storms, the National Weather Service does have the NW portion of the Hudson Valley in an elevated risk of Severe Thunderstorms.”

Tuesday transitions from warm and muggy to cool and dry, and by Wednesday things return to comfortable temperatures in the Hudson Valley, the HVW reports.
