Yonkers Man Nabbed Again After Stealing A Vehicle In Yorktown: Police
The 49-year-old was charged with felony third-degree grand larceny of the $26,000 vehicle, and released on his own recognizance.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Yonkers man already accused of auto theft in Yorktown, has been linked to another car theft in town.
The Yorktown Police Department says that 49-year-old Jason Popowich, of Yonkers, was arrested and charged with felony third-degree grand larceny.
On Dec. 3, Yorktown police received a report about a stolen vehicle. After an investigation, police alleged that Popowich stole a vehicle, valued at $26,000. Yorktown police then applied for and received a warrant for Popowich's arrest.

On Saturday, Yorktown police were notified by the Yonkers Police Department that they had Popowich in custody. Yorktown officers then headed to the Westchester County Court to take custody of Popowich and bring him back to Yorktown Police Department headquarters for processing.

After arraignment, Popowich was released on his own recognizance and is due back in the Yorktown Justice Court on Jan. 22.
