Yorktown Chamber of Commerce Looks for the 'Best of Yorktown'
The polls are now open for the Chamber of Commerce's 2012 contest. Voting ends at midnight on Sunday, Sept. 9.

Now in its second year, the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce is looking for the 'Best of Yorktown' as a way to support and generate awareness of the local business and non-profit communities.
"We were blown away with how many " Yorktown Chamber of Commerce president Joseph Visconti said. "We were so impressed with the amount of support the people in the community threw behind their favorite businesses that we knew immediately that we would do it again this year."
Voting for The Best of Yorktown 2012 has begun.

The categories for 2012 are: fine dining, casual dining, financial institution, real estate service, doctor/dentist/therapist, salon/spa, home improvement, jeweler, bars, arts and leisure (health club, theatre group or organizations, golf, tennis, concert series, pools, parks), children’s activities (nursery, play classes, gyms) and instructional classes (yoga, dance, karate, etc.).
"By expanding the categories, we are giving more local businesses a chance to shine," Visconti said. "This is a great way for customers to show their appreciation and for the community to find out about some of the treasures Yorktown has to offer."

In order for a business to be eligible it must be located within the town of Yorktown.
People can log on to www.yorktownfestival.com/bestofyorktown to cast their ballot for their favorite business. Each person is allowed to vote only once. Voting ends at midnight on Sunday, Sept. 9.
Hard copy ballots will be available at the Yorktown Senior Center and at the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce’s networking events.
Plaques will be presented to the winning businesses at the 4th annual Yorktown Festival and Street Fair, which will be held on Sunday, October 7. For more information contact the chamber office at (914) 245-4599.
