Yorktown Man Accused Of Breaking Into Apartment
Police said the victim was asleep at the time.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown man was accused of breaking into someone’s apartment while they were sleeping.
The Yorktown Police Department said Errol Fernandes, 32, of Yorktown, was arrested Tuesday and charged with second-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor.
Police said, around 3:15 a.m. May 14, a report was received of a man entering an apartment without permission while the victim was asleep.

Officers responded, met with the victim and began an investigation.
A canvass of the nearby area was conducted and Fernandes was located on Underhill Avenue where he was placed under arrest.

He was taken to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.
Fernandes was arraigned by a judge who issued a temporary order of protection on behalf of the victim.
He was released on his own recognizance to reappear in the Yorktown Justice Court June 8.
