Yorktown Man Accused Of Driving With Revoked License
Police said they initially stopped the man because he wasn't wearing a seatbelt.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown man was accused of driving with a revoked license after a traffic stop.
The Yorktown Police Department said Joseph Schiavone, 37, of Yorktown, was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and no seatbelt and unlicensed operation, traffic infractions.
Police said, around 7:30 p.m Monday, an officer on patrol on Allan Avenue when he said he saw a car with the driver not wearing a seatbelt.

A traffic stop was conducted and Schiavone was identified as the driver.
A DMV check of his license status found it was revoked for refusal to submit to a chemical test.

Schiavone was arrested and processed at the scene.
He was issued traffic tickets for the charges and released on his own recognizance.
Schiavone is scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court June 8.
