Yorktown Man Drives Drunk, Speeds: Police

An officer conducting an early morning speed enforcement detail pulled the man over.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown Heights man was accused of being drunk while driving in the town.

The Yorktown Police Department said, shortly before 3 a.m. Wednesday, an officer conducting speed enforcement on Crompond Road said he stopped a car for traveling over the posted speed limit.

Brian Rios, 26, of Yorktown, was identified as the driver, police said.

It was determined that he was driving while drunk, according to the authorities.

Rios was arrested and taken to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content over 0.08 percent, a misdemeanor, DWI first offense and speed in zone.

Rios was issued tickets and released on his own recognizance to a responsible third party. He is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court Sept. 2.
