Yorktown Man Kicks In Glass Door, Faces Felony Charge: Police
Police said they arrested him after serving him with an order of protection for an unrelated case.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown man was accused of kicking in a gas station’s glass door.
The Yorktown Police Department said Albert Tapia, 30, of Yorktown, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony.
Police said, shortly after 3 a.m. April 16, an officer was sent to check out a report of criminal mischief at the Sunoco 7-Eleven gas station at 3650 Lee Rd.

The officer met with an employee who ID’d Tapia, who wasn’t at the scene when the officer got there, as the person who kicked in the glass entry door causing it to shatter.
Police applied for a warrant which was issued by the Yorktown Justice Court May 2.

Just before 2 a.m. Monday, police went to Tapia’s home to serve him with a temporary order of protection from an unrelated case.
After he was served with the order of protection, Tapia was arrested and taken to police headquarters where he was processed on the criminal mischief charge.
He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.
Tapia is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court June 1.
