Thanks to the  for sharing the information: Yorktown supervisor Michael Grace will be opening the , located at 1974 Commerce Street in Yorktown, for residents as a cooling center on Wednesday, July 18. The Cooling Center is a place where residents can stay if their home is uncomfortable because of the unseasonable high temperature and high humidity. Residents are permitted to bring non-perishable items and are reminded to bring with them any necessary medications. No pets are allowed at the Cooling Center.  The Cooling Center will be open from 12:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18. Let Patch save you time.
