Yorktown Roadwork Set To Take 4 Weeks

Weather permitting, the DOT said a culvert replacement on Route 118 in the town of Yorktown will take about a month.

YORKTOWN, NY — Roadwork in Yorktown will continue for four weeks, the state Department of Transportation said.

The DOT said Westchester County motorists should be aware that Route 118 is expected to close between Birdsall Drive and Hanover Street in the town of Yorktown.

Work was scheduled to begin at midnight Monday, Oct. 17 and continue through Monday, Nov. 14.

A culvert replacement is the reason for the work, weather permitting.

Motorists should follow the posted detour using Route 202, Saw Mill River Road and Route 35, and Route 200 as an alternate.

Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
