Both parades are scheduled for Monday, May 29.

Memorial Day parades are scheduled to take place in both Yorktown and Somers on Monday, May 29.

The Yorktown parade, which is being overseen by a local American Legion chapter, will involve marchers gathering at Underhill Avenue and Front Street in Yorktown Heights at 10 a.m., with a move to town hall at 10:45 a.m. There, the parade itself will start at 11 a.m. A Legion member, 1st Vice Cmdr. Bill Goss, is at the helm for organizing.

For the Somers parade, marchers are asked to gather at Somers Middle School's East parking lot at 9:30 a.m. The parade will start at 10 a.m. and go through the downtown area. A ceremony at Ivandell Cemetery will follow the parade itself. A local VFW post is helping with the parade.
