Yorktown Youth Arrested for Punching 17-Year-Old Teen

Youth Punches 17-Year-Old Victim Twice
An 18-year-old Yorktown teen faces criminal charges for allegedly punching a 17-year-old teen twice in one day, said.
The teen, whose name police did not release due to his eligibility for youthful offender status, was charged with two counts of third-degree attempted assault, a misdemeanor.

Police received a call about the fight at the in Yorktown on July 22 at approximately 8:49 p.m. Police revealed the teen, who wasn't at the scene when they got there, had punched a 17-year-old victim in the face. Allegedly, he hit the victim again in the head while outside a home on Elizabeth Road.
The defendant voluntarily appeared at police headquarters on July 24 where he was placed under arrest. He was later released and scheduled to appear in on Aug. 21.

Teen Arrested for Possession of Alcohol
An 18-year-old teen is due in court next month to answer charges that he allegedly was in possession of an open can of beer, police said.
The Yorktown teen, whose name police did not release due to his eligibility for youthful offender status, was arrested on July 19 and charged with possession of an open alcoholic beverage container, a violation of the Yorktown town code.
Police, investigating a separate incident in the area, said they observed the teen with an open can of beer and took him into custody.
The defendant was scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21. The teen was also processed on a separate charge, police did not identify.
Teens Found in Possession of Marijuana
Two Yorktown teens, who were found to be in possession of small amounts of marijuana, are due in court next month.
Police did not release the names of the 17-year-old male and 16-year-old female due to their eligibility for youthful offender status. The teens were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, when police stopped their vehicle on July 19 at about 2 a.m.
The defendants were released to family members and scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.
