• Middle school athletics move toward reunification in county (randolphrecord.com) — Randolph County school leaders have voted to reunify the middle school athletic conference with Uwharrie Charter Academy and Asheboro City Schools, aiming to cut travel and keep kids competing locally. The move, still being finalized, would affect South Asheboro and North Asheboro middle schools starting in 2026–27 and comes after months of talks among the three superintendents.

  • Scam alert—if anyone calls claiming to be a lieutenant from Randolph County sheriff’s office and tries to say you got a charge for failing to appear for court summons and have been charged and need to pay fines—it’s a scam.
    They try to get you to go to 727 McDowell Rd and bring $35000 for collateral. I called sheriff’s office and they verified that it’s a scam. (Nextdoor Greystone)
