Fifty-six student-athletes at Fayetteville Technical Community College completed the Fall 2021 semester with a 3.0 grade point average or higher.

Seventeen of the students competed in fall sports, including volleyball, men’s basketball and women’s basketball. They were named All-Region Academic Team recipients for Fall.
The other 39 students are members of FTCC’s softball and baseball teams, which compete in the spring. If they maintain their GPAs through the spring semester, they will be recognized on the All-Region Academic team for spring.

“I’m super proud of our student-athletes,” said Dr. Shannon Yates, FTCC’s Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. “My goal when I became the athletic director was to create an athletic department that aimed to be champions in the classroom, champions in competition and champions in the community. This is one step further in our development.”
The students named to the All-Region Academic Team list for Fall include nine members of the volleyball team, six members of the men’s basketball team and three members of the women’s basketball team. One recipient belonged to both the volleyball and the women’s basketball teams.
The spring student-athletes includes eight members of the softball team and 39 members of the baseball team. Two members of the baseball team are also on the men’s basketball team.
