Gunfire near a Fayetteville gas station leaves two men shot, one dying at the hospital: Police (cbs17.com) — Fayetteville police are investigating a deadly early-morning shooting at the Circle K on Cliffdale Road that left one man dead from a chest wound and another injured in the leg. Officers say the incident appears isolated and there’s no ongoing public danger. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact Detective D. Jackson or CrimeStoppers.

Fayetteville police investigating woman found dead on Bragg Boulevard (fayobserver.com) — Fayetteville police are investigating a woman’s suspicious death along the 3900 block of Bragg Boulevard after she was found dead Monday morning in a nearby woodline. Homicide detectives are handling the case, and authorities are withholding her identity until family is notified. Residents with any information are urged to contact Detective B. Pleze or Fayetteville/Cumberland County Crimestoppers.

Council and Activists Press City Manager After Spokesperson's Botched Press Release (cityviewnc.com) — Fayetteville residents are watching city leaders grapple with a botched press release about the council’s vote for mayor pro tem, raising fresh questions about transparency at City Hall. A local advocacy group and several council members want tighter oversight of the city’s communications office after conflicting accounts of the vote tally, saying public trust depends on clear, accurate information from staff.
4. Judge Orders Trump Administration to Release $18M in Flood Prevention Money to Fayetteville (cityviewnc.com) — Fayetteville is set to regain more than $18 million in federal flood-prevention funding after a judge ruled the Trump administration improperly tried to cancel the grants.
