The 2022 softball season has officially begun at Fayetteville Technical Community College.  The Trojan women kicked off the celebration of one of America’s favorite pastimes on February 8, 2022, by gathering for a First Pitch breakfast, hosted by their coach, John Newman.  Each player received a long-stemmed yellow rose, signifying friendship and team solidarity, assets Newman says are essential for a winning team.

It was the first game of the season, as our Trojans women matched up against Methodist University in Fayetteville, for a doubleheader on the opposing team’s turf.  Final score for game #1 was Methodist over the Trojans, 6-3.  In game #2, Methodist Monarchs defeated FTCC Trojans, 5-17.

The loss hasn’t dampened the spirit of FTCC’s softball team.  Coach Newman says the season is just getting started and team members will continue to work to stay on path to meet their goals.
