Window cleaning is one of the household tasks few people like to tackle. Just take one look at TikTok and you’ll see hundreds of “hacks” that claim to make the chore a bit easier. There are suggestions about what kind of rags to use and whether fancy cleaning solutions are worth the money. But which ones work and which ones are a waste of time?
We asked a local window cleaning professional for help.
“Dish soap and vinegar are actually good options for cleaning your windows,” said Tiffany Moses, owner of Fish window cleaning in Fayetteville. TikTok suggests using the two combined or using them by themselves. Each appear to work quite well!
Moses also weighed in on the debate about paper towels which many people claim will leave streaks.
“Do not use paper towels to clean your glass,” Moses added. “Always opt for a microfiber cloth instead.”
Moses said homeowners should consider a professional cleaning at least once a year to get the most out of their windows. Moses, who is a proud veteran, said her FISH team is available and eager to clean windows on post and will be happy to make arrangements.
