North Carolina Shows Loyalty to Verizon
It's no secret that people tend to have strong preferences when it comes to what type of phone they use. What provider does NC prefer?

It’s no secret that people are weird about their cell phones and tend to have strong preferences when it comes to what type of phone they use. Are you #TeamiPhone or #TeamAndroid? Cell phone service providers are no different. Consumers primarily choose a provider based on two things: cost and network. However, overall, consumers are extremely loyal to their selected cellphone provider. Almost four out of five customers stick with their chosen mobile phone carrier when purchasing a new mobile device. North Carolina residents seem to be sticking with this trend as well.
In a recent study conducted by SimpleTexting, Verizon was the most searched cell provider of 2017 in North Carolina. In fact, North Carolina was one of few states that ranked Verizon as their top search every year since 2012.

Over the last six years, Verizon has been number one compared to its other four competitors (AT&T, Sprint, T Mobile and U.S. Cellular). So why has North Carolina been so dedicated to Verizon? It may be because Verizon provides the most robust coverage in North Carolina. Verizon also invested nearly $75 million in network enhancements across North Carolina in the first half of 2008 alone.
While it seems that North Carolinians are loyal to their cell phone providers, it’s important to not get stuck in a bad deal simply because you don’t want to make a change. Do your research; rates and plans between providers are constantly changing. It can be easy to just fall into the same routine, but other providers (such as AT&T) are rapidly growing their coverage. Only time will tell if Verizon continues to dominate our state or if another provider will pass the mainstay in Google search interest.
