Man dead after stabbing outside Circle K gas station in North Carolina, police say (myfox8.com) — A man died after being stabbed early Sunday outside the Circle K on Cliffdale Road in Fayetteville, and police are still searching for answers. Officers found him in the parking lot around 4 a.m., and he later died at the hospital. Detectives are asking anyone who saw anything to contact Fayetteville police or Crime Stoppers with anonymous tips.

Michelle Williams appointed as president and CEO of DistiNCtly Fayetteville (bizfayetteville.com) — Fayetteville’s tourism arm, DistiNCtly Fayetteville, has appointed longtime local hospitality leader Michelle Williams as its new president and CEO, effective January 1. With decades of hotel and tourism experience and deep involvement in Cumberland County organizations, she’ll guide efforts to attract visitors, boost sports and leisure travel, and strengthen partnerships that support Fayetteville’s economy.
   

3. Lawsuit Proceeds After Former Cumberland Deputy Loses Appeal in Killing of Veteran (cityviewnc.com) — A federal appeals court has cleared the way for a wrongful death lawsuit to continue over a 2020 Cumberland County deputy shooting near Fayetteville Regional Airport. The case centers on whether the deputy used excessive force when killing Army veteran Adrian Roberts during a mental health commitment attempt. A Fayetteville attorney represents Roberts’ family as the case returns to U.S. District Court.
   

4. Fort Bragg launches full-time commissary delivery service (fayobserver.com) — Military families in the Fayetteville area can now get Fort Bragg commissary groceries delivered straight to their door, thanks to a new full-time service run by OnPoint. Shoppers within 20 miles of a commissary can order through the CLICK2GO app or website, then pay a delivery fee plus the usual surcharge and optional tip for convenient doorstep drop-off.
   

5. Boneyard Bash wrestlers highlight 910Preps Athlete of the Week poll (fayobserver.com) — Fayetteville-area high school athletes kicked off 2026 with standout performances on the mat, court and in the pool, including big showings at Jack Britt’s Boneyard Bash and Fayetteville Christian’s new Warrior Classic. Local stars from Fayetteville Academy, Cape Fear, South View, Jack Britt and more are up for 910Preps Athlete of the Week. Parents and coaches are encouraged to support nominees with photos.
