• Man dead after stabbing outside of Fayetteville gas station (abc11.com) — A man died after being stabbed early Sunday morning outside the Circle K on Cliffdale Road in Fayetteville, and police are still investigating. Officers found him in the parking lot and he later died at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact police or Fayetteville/Cumberland County Crime Stoppers with anonymous tips.

• Southeastern North Carolina Wants to Grow Its Own Health Care Workforce (cityviewnc.com) — Fayetteville’s Methodist University and Fayetteville State University are stepping up to train more doctors and nurses who will stay in southeastern North Carolina, serving communities from Cumberland County to nearby rural areas. New medical and nursing programs, scholarships, and residency slots at Cape Fear Valley Health aim to ease provider shortages and improve health outcomes across the region. Local students are being recruited and encouraged to remain part of the community’s long-term care network.
