PB Greensboro is a democratic process where residents help determine how public funds are spent. Residents propose ideas, volunteer project advocates and facilitators develop those ideas into projects for the ballot, and residents 14 and older vote on which to fund.

Volunteer project advocates and lead project advocates will serve from April to July up to five hours per week. During in-person and online meetings with fellow community members and City staff, they will identify problems and needs in their City Council District and develop full projects based on proposed ideas. Fully vetted projects will be put before residents for possible funding in September.

“Project advocates and facilitators are the heart of Participatory Budgeting. These volunteers will ensure that proposed projects are providing the solutions their neighbors and neighborhoods need,” said Leila Lewis, PB Greensboro outreach and program coordinator. “Joining your district committee is also a great way to ensure the idea you submitted makes it onto the ballot in the fall.”
