Iredell Man Wanted On Sexual Servitude, Trafficking Charges: ICSO
The victim told deputies that Rickett drugged and beat her, sexually assaulted her and held her against her will, ICSO said.

IREDELL COUNTY, NC — Iredell County authorities are searching for a man accused of a list of crimes including kidnapping, sexual servitude and human trafficking.
According to the sheriff's office, the offenses occurred between Sept. 27 and Oct. 18 on J.D. Lance in Cleveland, North Carolina.
Akura Laquan Rickett, 40, is wanted on outstanding warrants on the following charges: felony first degree kidnapping; felony human trafficking; felony sexual servitude; six counts of felony assault by strangulation; three counts of felony sell or deliver controlled substance; and felony habitual misdemeanor assault.

On Oct. 18, deputies responded to a local medical facility after receiving a report that a woman was seeking treatment for an assault that occurred during a domestic violence incident.
"When deputies arrived, they met with the victim and learned she had also been sexually assaulted as well," ICSO said in a statement. "The victim went on to say she had meet the suspect, Akura Laquan Rickett, after he had bonded her out of jail. The victim said they then went to a home in eastern Iredell County where she was drugged, beaten, sexually assaulted and held there against her will."

Investigators obtained arrest warrants for Rickett, who is now considered a Wanted Person by the sheriff's office.
