- Mother Nature has once again taken its toll on the area. A severe storm rolled into the area Monday bringing with it strong winds, lightning and flooding. Many in northern Raleigh woke up to no power on Tuesday morning. One death so far is being blamed on the weather. According to WTVD-TV, "Just before midnight, one person died in a car crash related to the storms. The person was driving a white car along Six Forks Road at Sandy Forks Road in Raleigh when they crashed into a Duke Energy truck. The Duke Energy bucket truck was in the area working to restore power knocked out by the storm." (WTVD-TV)
- Tuesday marked the sweet goodbye for Anisette Sweet Shop, which had called the Five Points neighborhood home for the past seven years, alerting customers about the closing via Instagram. According to Axios, the message read, "'It's hard for us to say goodbye, but the time has come,'" the bakery wrote. "'Thank you for helping us do what we did. And know that if you feel like you held a special part of this place, we feel that too.'" (Axios)
