The Ivybrook Way
At Ivybrook Academy, children are provided learning materials which give them instant feedback. Rather than sitting at desks listening to a teacher’s instruction, children direct their education and choose their tasks. Students choose hands-on projects within the boundaries of a thoughtfully prepared classroom.
Children are empowered to succeed on their own terms in student-led classrooms, promoting interaction with peers. Children can pursue their own interests and revisit and build upon ideas at their own pace. It is this way at Ivybrook that children are encouraged to raise their voices and use their talents with confidence.
Also at Ivybrook, education is not a “one size fits all” format. Each student is unique, so they each learn, remember, perform and understand in different ways. Children receive a flexible, and more authentic, curriculum, customized to each of their own needs and their individual thirst to learn.
Class Offerings
Ivybrook Academy’s programs are designed for children as young as 18 months through 5 years old.
All classes are offered on a half day schedule that might take place on a variety of days of the week.
- Toddler Preschool
- Preschool for 2-year-olds
- Preschool for 3-year-olds
- Preschool for 4 & 5-year-olds
Ivybrook Academy collaborates between parents and educators to create a top-quality system that cultivates a learning experience that works best for each individual child. The core belief is that children must feel comfortable in their environment to ask questions, find answers and have opportunities to explore, create, problem-solve, and learn to work well with others. It is firmly believed that this method of teaching establishes a solid foundation for the child’s future success.
