Veteran healthcare and senior living leader brings deep experience, passion for service, and a commitment to enhancing lives

Wilmington, NC – Liberty Senior Living, a leading owner and operator of senior living communities, is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert (Bob) Goyette as Chief Operations Officer. Goyette brings with him a distinguished track record in the senior living industry, marked by a passion for service, a deep respect for seniors and their families, and a belief in the power of strong, motivated teams.
Goyette, who lives in Leland, North Carolina, has been in a C-suite position for over 10 years and has held nearly every leadership role in senior living, including sales director, executive director, regional director, divisional vice president, and executive vice president. Over the course of his career, he has successfully opened more than 50 senior living communities across the country.
“Liberty has a strong foundation built on its mission to cultivate community, enhance lives, and promote independence,” said Goyette. “My goal is to build upon that foundation by strengthening our operating standards and empowering our associates to deliver an exceptional experience for our three core customers: residents, families, and team members.”

In his new role, Goyette is focused on building scalable systems and establishing operating standards across Liberty’s diverse portfolio, which includes rental communities, Life Plan Communities, equity-based models, standalone assisted living and memory care, and 55+ neighborhoods. He is especially committed to providing structure and tools that help teams succeed, including the use of performance dashboards and business intelligence to drive quality outcomes and informed decision-making.
“We’re using data not just to strengthen our financial position, but to improve lives,” said Goyette. “Technology should be used as an accelerator, taking what’s already working well and making it even better.”

Goyette’s leadership style is rooted in service and helping others. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and became a licensed practical nurse before transferring to the Air Force Reserves as a Medical Services Corp Officer. His military experience shaped his calling to healthcare.
“I knew early on that I was built to serve others,” he said. “Healthcare gave me that opportunity, and senior living gave me a lifelong purpose.”
Goyette’s perseverance and commitment to service and excellence has earned him accolades, including the prestigious Expert Field Medical badge. Awarded to a select group of military medical personnel for expertise in field medical operations, the award stands as one of the most coveted and demanding military skill badges.
At Liberty Senior Living, Goyette says he is drawn to the organization’s longstanding reputation, culture of growth, and sincere dedication to resident well-being.
“I’m very proud to be part of a company that is not only looking to grow, but to grow with a purpose,” he said. “Liberty’s range of communities and its commitment to quality, honesty and integrity makes this an amazing opportunity to continue to make a difference in the lives of others.” Further, he stated, “I am thankful for the entire team at Liberty and the values that they live each day. Together, we will continue to build upon this great legacy of families caring for families.”
With humility and determination, Goyette is focused on developing people, elevating operations, and reinforcing Liberty’s mission-driven culture.
“The highest obligation of a leader is to develop others,” he said. “I want to inspire and support our teams so they can be their best. By helping to lead and develop others, I am hopeful that my efforts will create a leadership domino effect, benefitting a future generation of leaders and the residents and families who they so passionately serve.”
“Bob has already made a tremendous impact on our systems and communities in a short time,” said Will Purvis, President of Liberty Senior Living. “His ability to bring structure, clarity, and purpose to complex operations is matched by his deep commitment to people. Bob’s leadership is strengthening our foundation and elevating the experience we provide across all our communities.”
