1. City-backed projects fueling growth on Downtown Raleigh's southern edge (newsobserver.com) — Downtown Raleigh’s southern edge is set for years of heavy construction, with a new Red Hat Amphitheater, a major Raleigh Convention Center expansion, and a 27‑story Omni hotel all moving forward. City leaders say repairs from the convention center fire, new walking bridges, and upgrades around the Martin Marietta Center will ultimately bring more visitors, business, and activity to the area despite short-term disruptions.

2. Raleigh-Durham Airport parking set to change in early 2026 (wwaytv3.com) — If you fly out of RDU, be ready for big parking changes starting January 2, when Park Economy 4 closes to travelers and becomes employee-only. Drivers will need to shift to Premier, Central, Express, or an expanded Economy 3, which is adding 7,000 spaces, shuttles, and new amenities through 2026.

3. Arrest made in August shooting outside Southeast Raleigh High School football game (abc11.com) — Raleigh police have arrested a 19-year-old in connection with shots fired outside a Southeast Raleigh High School football game in August, an incident that ended the game early but caused no injuries. The police chief praised detectives’ persistence, while a school alumna described the chaos and urged parents to better supervise students at games. Investigators are still seeking tips from the community.

4. Driver wanted after leading deputies on chase, ending in Wake County crash, sheriff's office says (cbs17.com) — Deputies are searching northeast Raleigh after a speeding driver fled a late-night crash on Louisburg Road, near Perry Creek and Mitchell Mill roads. The Wake County Sheriff’s Office says the man ran off after hitting two cars, and investigators used drones and K-9s overnight as they continue looking for him.
