  1. Make sure to check out 'Voices of Oberlin' on the walls of the first and second floors of Raleigh City Hall. There are 20 photographs and 27 oral histories of the people and descendants of Oberlin Village, a community of west Raleigh called a Freedmens Village, which was a safe space for free Black families after enslavement.   3. —f you were driving by the Wake Inn in Raleigh around 5 a.m. on Friday morning you may have seen evidence markers all over the parking lot because a shooting occurred there just before 4 a.m. According to WRAL News, "Police said one man was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. WRAL is working to learn the circumstances of the shooting." (WRAL News)
