1. Police shop for families in need at Fargo Walmart (inforum.com) — Families in Cass County got a big boost this week as officers from across the area filled the south Fargo Walmart for the 31st annual Shop With a Cop event. Seventy-five families each received $300 in shopping money plus a $100 Cash Wise gift card, all funded by donations to the local Fraternal Order of Police and coordinated through schools to reach kids most in need.
   

2. Friends remember Fargo cancer survivor who died in workplace accident (valleynewslive.com) — A 51-year-old Fargo man, Stacy “Deuce” Martin, has died after a truck axle fell on him during a workplace accident at Bert’s Truck Equipment, despite being conscious when first responders arrived. Friends in his motorcycle club say he had recently beaten liver cancer and was known for his humor, big heart, and constant presence at Woody’s Bar. The incident remains under investigation.
   

3. Community lights menorah in Fargo on fourth night of Hanukkah (inforum.com) — A public menorah lighting brought the Jewish community and supporters together outside the Fargo Public Library on the fourth night of Hanukkah, emphasizing unity and resilience. Organized by the Chabad Jewish Center of North Dakota, the event featured free menorahs, candles, refreshments, and heightened security following a recent overseas Hanukkah-related shooting. Another public lighting is planned in Grand Forks.
   

4. Second Thursday in February (nationaldaycalendar.com) — A Fargo-based nonprofit, Impact Foundation, helped launch National Giving Hearts Day, a 24-hour fundraiser that now channels millions to charities across North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota each February. The day encourages anyone, anywhere, to give online—often to multiple causes at once—with a minimum suggested donation roughly equal to a couple cups of coffee.
