• Today in History, 1942: Fargo's Community War Chest fundraising tops $83,000 for wartime relief aid (inforum.com) — Fargo once rallied in a big way for wartime relief, with residents and businesses in Fargo and West Fargo raising over $83,000 in 1942 for 29 community and war-related agencies. A reprinted Christmas Day story recalls how local leaders, NDAC connections, and even military trainees helped the Community and War Chest smash its goal and support people at home and abroad. 
• Fargo man pleads not guilty to gun-related charges in Bismarck State College threat case (inforum.com) — A 21-year-old Fargo resident has pleaded not guilty to gun-related charges tied to an alleged threat against students at Bismarck State College last month. Prosecutors say he pointed a handgun at another student and displayed it again during a later altercation in a residence hall. He’s now living with his parents in Fargo on bond while awaiting a March trial.
