Avon Lake Community TV Wins 3 2021 Philo Awards
The community television station claimed three awards in this year's competition.
AVON LAKE, OH — Avon Lake Community TV won three awards in the 2021 Philo Media competition.
The station competed with shows and stations from Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. All of Avon Lake TV's programming is available line at AvonLake.org/digital-media.
Stephanie Biggers, production coordinator for the station, was named a winner in "Comedy/Humor" for "Running with Scissors: Avon Lake Ribbon Cuttings." The video features Mayor Greg Zilka and Economic Development Director Ted Esborn as they run through the city to perform ribbon cuttings at eight new businesses that opened between March and June 2020.

Lucas Hricko, production assistant, was named a winner in the "Community Event General" category for "The Haunted Trails at Weiss Park." This is the second year in a row that Hricko has won an award for his production on an Avon Lake Halloween event.

Finally, Avon Lake Pubic Producer Traci McBride has been named a winner in "Interview/Talk Show" category for her program, "Indelible Impression with TeeMcBee," featuring editing from Stephanie Biggers. In the winning episode, McBride speaks with Tamsin Astor, the author of "Force of Habit" about her book and building better habits.
