According to cleveland.com, "the Avon Democratic Club (ADC) will meet at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Avon Senior Center, 36786 Detroit Road.   2. The next public build for the Good Knights of Lorain County non-profit is from 6 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 14. According to cleveland.com, "Good Knights of Lorain County organization provides free beds and bedding to children in need in the county. All of the beds are built by volunteers. Every month (on the second Tuesday), Good Knights hosts a community event for the public to help build beds in the group’s shop at 1935 Cooper Foster Park Drive in Amherst. Cobos Insurance, 32745 Walker Road Suite A, is now a drop-off location for bedding. Donations accepted include new twin bedding, sheets, pillows, throw pillow and blankets. Avon Lake United Church of Christ, 32801 Electric Blvd., also hosts weekly bedding drives. According to cleveland.com, the Avon Lake City Schools’ five-year financial forecast has been approved by the Board of Education.“The forecast is a conservative, yet realistic, picture of the district’s finances based on historical trends and current factors and will continue to be monitored, as the variables modeled can change,” said district Treasurer Autumn Reed. Reed noted that the forecast reflects only the school district’s general operating fund, meaning it does not include monies for “bond retirement, permanent improvements, food service or federal grant funds.” (cleveland.com)
