1. Support for LCCC
Both Avon and Avon Lake will be voting on a resolution of support for Lorain County Community College in support of a 1.5 mill renewal levy with a .06 mill. The item will be on the Nov. 5 ballot as Issue 2.Â

2. Holy Spirit Parish Ladies Guild Membership Drive          Â
The Holy Spirit Parish Ladies Guild first meeting for 2013-14 on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. in Ft. Mosovsky Hall, 410 Lear Rd. The program for the evening will be, "Wines From Around The World," a presentation and tasting by Lenny Jarzen, who has been in the wine business for 40 years.  Enjoy the trip into the WineÂ

3. Volunteer for Ingenuity Fest
Ingenuity Cleveland is currently recruiting volunteers for IngenuityFest to be held Sept. 20 – 22, 2013. The Festival’s organizers are looking for volunteers to assist with many tasks, such as greeting visitors, passing out programs, assisting artists, setting up before the event, selling merchandise, collecting surveys and more. 4. More Deer     Â
Avon Lake Mayor Greg Zilka will speak about the deer study at the Sept. 16 council meeting. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall and is also televised live on ALC-TV.
5.  Westside Walk to Remember
Join others to make this a world without Alzheimer's
The West Side Walk is Sept. 21 at All Pro Freight Stadium in Avon (home to the Lake Erie Crushers) on Routes I-90 and 611. The activity begins at 8:30 a.m., the interactive Opening Ceremony at 9:30, and the 3-mile walk (or 1-mile option) at approximately 9:45.The festivities include a Kid Zone with special take-home projects thanks to Home Depot, a balloon clown, jugglers from Saint Ignatius Circus Company and more. Â
