In early April, Elements Therapeutic Massage opened in the new Market Place on Detroit Road in Avon, marking the first new business for the plaza (near Mitchell’s Ice Cream).

The location offers a broad spectrum of massages including deep tissue, hot stone, prenatal, sports, Swedish and trigger point massages.

“We try to match client to the therapist,” Davis said. Employees receive different types of massages monthly from other employees to learn different techniques while on the job. “Each therapist has a different level of pressure. Some might offer a Swedish massage to someone who might have chronic fatigue. They might want a softer, gentler massage. An athlete might want a spot specific massage or trigger point release.”

Elements massage employs nine therapists on staff in addition to two assistant manager and two client specialists. The site has seven rooms that include heated massage tables.  The location is now offering a “wellness program” that is free to join and offers discounts on monthly massages.

“People are starting to get massages once a month,” Davis said, noting that people understand the benefits of a monthly massage.”

Davis said massage benefits include increased circulation, decreased pain, thinking and feel better, and improved life management.

“It’s great for people with Fibromyalgia, back pain, headaches, sport injuries...Davis said.

Elements Therapuetic Massage is open Monday - Saturday, 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
