  1. Avon/Avon Lake Community Resource Services will be receiving a very big food drive on Friday, January 6 and according to a recent Facebook post, "it needs volunteers to help process it. If you have some time to spare and would like to help between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., please contact Cece at ccarlson@aalcrs.org or 440-933-5639. College kids are welcome!" 2. The home ballpark for the Lake Erie Crushers is getting a name change. According to cleveland.com," the team announced naming rights for the ballpark will become available to a new partner after this season. In a release, Crushers co-owner Tom Kramig called Mercy Health “a fantastic partner” for more than 10 years. The Crushers are in the middle of completing upgrades to the stadium, which opened in 2009." (cleveland.com)
  3. According to cleveland.com, "nearly a year after Cultivate Yoga announced that it would be opening a Lakewood location, the nonprofit organization is finally making good on that promise. However, it won’t be, at least for now, at the proposed $3.75 million adaptive-reuse project of the former Trinity Church property, which is experiencing a construction delay. “We’re still under lease with Trinity,” Cultivate Yoga founder and Lakewood resident Evan Scharfeld said. We don’t have a move-in date there. My guess is it’s more than a year away. “In the meantime, we were able to secure a temporary location on the west end.”
Located at 18615 Detroit Avenue Extension, Cultivate Yoga is sharing a 25-person space with Revive Spa. The sublease location began offering classes earlier this week. (cleveland.com)
