- It's time to start thinking Little League! Registration for the 2023 baseball, softball and challenger seasons is open now. Visit www.avonlittleague.com to register. Majors and minors baseball registration closes February 12. Registration for all other baseball divisions is open through March 12. Registration for all softball divisions is open through March 12. - Save the date! The Avon Lake High School National English Honor Society members and the Avon Lake Public Library are hosting author Thrity Umigar on March 30. She will speak at ALHS in the PAC at 1 p.m. and then at the library at 7 p.m. She will be signing copies of her book, 'Honor,’at 2 p.m. at the PAC. Hope to see you at one of these special events. - Take advantage of the snow and build a snowman! If you want to submit it in the annual Avon Lake Parks and Recreation Snowman contest. Build a snowman in your yard (or in a city park) by Feb. 27, then take a picture of your masterpiece and submit it to the Avon Lake Parks and Recreation office. The contest is open to Avon Lake residents. Submit entries online via email to the Avon Lake Parks and Recreation office at alrec@avonlake.org or in person at the Recreation Department, 150 Avon Belden Road. Can't wait to see what you build!
