  1. The top five honorees in this year’s Lorain County Regional Scholastic Art Show include students from Avon, Avon Lake and North Ridgeville. The following students received American Vision Awards; Isabella Keller a junior at Avon High School, Ella Monchein a junior from Avon Lake High School and Faith Schneider a junior from North Ridgeville High School. Their pieces can be seen at the Stocker Art Center in Elyria where the show is currently on exhibit. Congratulations students! Great job! (cleveland.com)
  2. It's wintertime, the best time of year to see wild bald eagles in Ohio. "According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, there were an estimated 824 eagle nests in 2022. It’s a dramatic increase from 1979 when there were only four recorded nesting pairs of eagles." The increase in numbers is good news for the birds especially Star and Stripes, the unofficial mascots of Redwood Elementary School, who have made their home on the property of the school. This couple is famous in the area. A live cam has been set up, so you can enjoy the birds and view their comings and goings from the comfort of your own nest. (cleveland.com)

  • Love-A-Stray Dog Division Non-Profit Rescue: "Rescued from a puppy mill 6 months ago, Char was completely shutdown!! She had multiple litters and spent 24/7 in a cage. It took months for her to even raise her head. We reached out to our friend Amy to help decompress and rehabilitate her, then she went to a fantastic foster home for months before she could officially be up for adoption. We hit the lottery with her new awesome home where she has a dog friend and a fenced-in yard." (Love-A-Stray Dog Division Non-Profit Rescue via Facebook)
