
It may not be school season just yet, but the Avon High School junior and senior classes are preparing for an annual end-of-year tradition: the prom.
“This is for both the junior and senior prom,” Avon junior Sierra Davidson, who is helping organize one of the prom’s fundraising events, said. “We raise money every year, and the money collected is divided among the students for prom tickets.”
Davidson said the date and location for the 2014 prom have not yet been announced.

The 2014 and 15 Eagles are kick-starting their fundraising with a “Thirsty Thursday” Lake Erie Crushers’ game Aug. 15.
A portion of the tickets, which are $9, must be purchased through AHS students by Aug. 12.

“You cannot get them at the stadium,” Davidson said.
Aug. 15 is a “Thirsty Thursday” night featuring $1 beers (for 21 and over.)
Students will be selling the tickets outside the front of Avon High School on Sundays from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and Mondays - Thursdays from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
