According to cleveland.com, "Winter Storm Elliott rearranged Northeast Ohio’s Christmas plans, clogging roads and airports, preventing any last-minute shopping excursions and barricading us in our homes. And it looks like the freezing temperatures will stay with us for at least a few more days, even if the snow moves on. The first major storm of the season hit early Friday morning, bringing snow, high winds and below-freezing temperatures. The gusts hit 60 mph in some parts of Northeast Ohio, knocking out power to thousands and sending the wind chill to 30 below. Forecasters even called for a blizzard warning for Cuyahoga, Lake and Ashtabula counties." (cleveland.com)
2. Holiday presents for Lake Erie anglers. According to cleveland.com,"Western Lake Erie fishermen are getting a Christmas present that should be ready for action in the spring. The popular Mazurik Access Area on the Marblehead Peninsula, adjacent to the popular East Harbor State Park, has recently broken ground on both a new restroom facility at the Mazurik boat launch and a Barracuda Fish Cleaning Station. It will match the popular Barracuda station built by the Cleveland Metroparks at Cleveland Lakefront State Park in Cleveland Harbor."(cleveland.com)
