1. It's going to be a cold one this weekend! According to a Facebook post from the City of Avon, "Here is an update from the National Weather Service: What Has Changed: A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for our entire area for Thursday Night through Saturday Night/Sunday Morning. What to Expect: A multi-hazard storm system will reach the area on Thursday night and bring wind, cold, and snow impacts to the region Thursday night through Saturday with cold continuing into Sunday morning. Significant winds and extreme cold, including dangerous wind chills, still appear to be the greatest threats from the storm. 2. And... the winners of the Gingerbread House Contest are...! According to a Facebook post from the Avon Lake Public library; "The winners of our very first ALPL Gingerbread House Contest are; Kids (11 & under): Brooklynn S. Teens: Sarah B. Adult: Michaela K. Family/Group: John Pyke Dentistry We can't thank everyone enough who created gingerbread houses and to all of those who voted on them. Winners received a $50 Target gift card, an official Gingerbread House Contest medal, some ALPL swag and bragging rights! We can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with next year. 3. Press Secretary Matt Bruning, Ohio Department of Transportation is warning,"Winter Storm - Plan now for potentially hazardous travel conditions later this week.
