Here are the top three stories today in Avon-Avon Lake:

1. Drivers take note! According to cleveland.com, "work begins this week by Columbia Gas of Ohio for pipeline replacement along State Route 83 (Center Road). Crews will be installing approximately 4,400-feet of new plastic pipe serving roughly 40 residences between Detroit Road and the Miller Nature Preserve. Most of the work will be on the eastside of State Route 83. The project is expected to take two-three months. Drivers may experience delays when traveling in the area, please plan accordingly and drive with caution through the work zones."(cleveland.com)

3. You are invited to attend the official grand reopening of the new Avon Branch Library from 1 to 6 p.m. February, 4 at 37485 Harvest Drive. According to cleveland.com, "after the ribbon cutting ceremony, guests can enjoy live demonstrations in the new Norton Family Foundation demonstration kitchen, Create Space and eSports Lounge, as well as free giveaways. The new updates also include a large meeting room (seats 150), more study rooms, a business area, as well as a Quiet Reading area featuring a local history theme. Last September the new addition to the library opened to the public as renovations continued on the original library space. Now the entire ‘new’ library is ready for its debut. The original library building was constructed in 1994. In April 2020, Avon voters approved a 2-mill levy, which will generate $1.9 million per year for the next 20 years (beginning in 2021) for renovations and expansion of the library, as well as for operating funds for the library to expand services, materials and hours."
