- Ohio men, including one from Cincinnati, were arrested for a cold case murder from 1997. Yesterday, Jan. 24, Richardo Sepulveda, a 51-year-old from Cincinnati, and Michael Sepulveda, a 49-year-old from Toledo, were arrested in connection to the 1997 homicide of "John Doe." The two men face multiple charges including first-degree premeditated murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree premeditated murder, assault with intent to maim, and tampering with evidence. - Cincinnati Public Schools announced all schools will be closed today, Jan. 25, due to inclement weather. The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Greater Cincinnati area from midnight on Jan. 24 to 1:00 p.m. on Jan. 25 and estimates four to six inches of heavy, wet snow. - On Jan. 24, Director Gabe Davis told a Council committee that the Citizen Complaint Authority, Cincinnati’s independent police oversight board, is on track to clear the complaint backlog within a year despite the increase of complaints in 2022. The board nearly doubled the number of completed investigations last year. Davis is working on a report about traffic stops, a full yearly report for 2022, and a "patterns and recommendations" report for 2021. (WVXU)
