- The trial for “the largest corruption case in Ohio history,” according to federal prosecutors, began in Cincinnati yesterday. Larry Householder, the Republican former Ohio House speaker, and Matt Borges, a lobbyist and former chairman of the Ohio Republican Party, face racketeering charges in connection to the 2019 passage of House Bill 6. Yesterday the lawyers chose jurors, and on Monday, the trial will begin in earnest. (Subscription: Cleveland. com)
- GE Aerospace confirmed the company would keep its base in Cincinnati. Cincinnati and Ohio will continue to host one of the world’s biggest producers of jet engines and components for commercial and military aircraft. A GE spokesman said, “GE Aerospace continues to have a strong commitment to Cincinnati and the surrounding community, and our headquarters functions will remain here following our transition to a stand-alone public company in early 2024.” (Subscription: Dayton Daily News)
- Two new 90s sitcom-themed stay-cation spots are now in Cincinnati! Brenda and Otto Baum rent the "Friends" and "Seinfeld" themed Airbnb units in Pleasant Ridge. One unit mimics Rachel and Monica's apartment, and the other mimics Jerry Seinfeld's apartment. (WCPO)

- Cincinnati Police arrested 34-year-old Ashley Brogden on three arson charges after she allegedly set fire to a home in West Price Hill on Dec. 19. Two people were inside the Manuel Street home when it caught fire. Police say eyewitness testimony, cell phone records, and security video tie Brogden to the crime. (Local 12 News)
- On Jan. 19, the Hamilton County GOP’s central committee appointed Melissa Powers to replace Joe Deters as a prosecutor. Powers is a former Hamilton County Juvenile Court judge who didn’t run for re-election this year. (Business Courier via Twitter)
- Deputy Director Alex Peppers and Zoning Administrator Emily Ahouse gave a presentation to the City Planning Commission yesterday, Jan. 20. The presentation highlighted the various projects and work completed over the past year. (Cincinnati City Planning & Engagement via Twitter)
