4 Companies Announce Mass Layoffs, Furloughs In Ohio This Month
October saw several major brands cut Buckeye State workers.
OHIO — Four major Ohio companies announced layoffs or furloughs this month.
According to filings with the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services, Marriott Hotels, Kellogg, BTA Enterprises and Creative Extruded Products will all cut workers soon.
Kellogg said it is permanently laying off employees at its Cincinnati Bakery, while Marriott is turning its Cleveland hotel over to another company and many workers will find employment with the new management team.

The impacted Kellogg workers will have their final days of employment around the holidays, finishing up work between Dec. 20, 2021 and Jan. 1, 2022.

Here are all the companies that announced layoffs this month:
- Creative Extruded Products in Tipp City — 165 impacted employees
- BTA Enterprises in Dayton — 78 employees
- Kellogg Company in Cincinnati — 73 employees
- Marriott Hotel Services in Cleveland — 109 employees
Creative Extruded Products is closing a plant in Tipp City, leaving nearly 80 employees out of work.
