47-Year-Old Shot To Death On Cleveland's East Side

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner identified the woman on Tuesday.

CLEVELAND — A 47-year-old woman was shot to death in Cleveland on Monday.

The woman was found at a home in the 2200 block of E. 79th Street at 3:20 a.m. When officers arrived, the woman had been shot in the chest. She was declared dead at the scene, police said.

Investigators believe the woman walked toward a person in a car and was shot. A person of interest has been identified and taken into custody, police said, but they did not reveal their identity.

On Tuesday, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner identified the 47-year-old as Latrice Jones of Cleveland. Her death was ruled a suspected homicide.
