Charlie Sheen to Attend World Series Game 7; Can 'Wild Thing' Rally the Indians to Victory?

CLEVELAND, OH — Charlie Sheen announced Wednesday morning that help was on the way for the Cleveland Indians in Game 7 of the World Series against the Chicago Cubs Wednesday night at Progressive Field.

Sheen tweeted, "FEAR NOT, "BELIEVE"LAND!! My bag is packed, and help is on the way!! ©99 #GetMeVaughn"

As it turns out, Sheen was invited to the game along with airfare and tickets by two die-hard Indians fans who want to see "Wild Thing" fire up the crowd at Progressive Field, according to cleveland.com. Sheen played Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughn in the 1989 baseball comedy "Major League."

Bobby George, of Corporate Management Group, the company that owns Town Hall and Barley House, told cleveland.com that he and Tony Madalone, owner of Fresh Brewed Tees, came up with the idea to bring Sheen to Cleveland together.

"What an awesome opportunity for Cleveland, said Madalone. "We're die-hard Clevelanders and wanted to do this for the fans. There's no better way to rally everyone than to bring Wild Thing to Cleveland!"

With Game 7 tonight, everything is on the line, so maybe Sheen and Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughn are exactly what the Indians need.

Neither Sheen nor Vaughn will be throwing out the Game 7 first pitch — that honor was given to former Indian (and other teams) Jim Thome. Travis Hafner, another former Tribe slugger, will deliver the ball.

Sheen is expected to land at Burke Lakefront Airport around 3:15 p.m.
