CLEVELAND — When the Kansas City Royals lost at Progressive Field on Monday, it may have been the last time many fans saw the Cleveland Indians scoreboard.

The Guardians moniker will be implemented across the stadium starting next season, bringing new uniforms, advertising and signage to Cleveland. To that end, the franchise submitted designs for its news scoreboard look on Monday, News 5 reported.

The proposal would allow the team to mount red and white-trimmed letters to the existing scoreboard, this time trumpeting the Guardians nickname.
